Today’s Photo Of The Day is “Golden Elm in Yosemite Valley” by Jeff Sullivan. Location: Yosemite National Park, California.
“This elm tree in Yosemite Valley displayed a fleeting yet distinct peak in yellow color for about 24 to 48 hours, while nearby oaks displayed a mixture of green and yellowish-brown,” says Sullivan. “The last surviving elm of the ones planted by James Mason Hutchings in the mid-1800s, as an introduced species, they were part of the park’s history, but are not part of its future.
“To preserve shadow and highlight detail, three exposures bracketed one stop apart in exposure were adjusted in Adobe Lightroom and combined in Photomatix HDR software.”
